Job Description: As a Petroleum Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing data related to petroleum production, reserves, and exploration activities. You will play a crucial role in providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze data on petroleum production, reserves, and exploration activities
- Prepare reports, presentations, and financial models to support decision-making processes
- Collaborate with various departments including accounting, engineering, finance, business development (BD), and land
- Assist in evaluating potential investments, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the oil and gas industry
- Provide support for senior-level M&A, divestiture, land management, and commercial business development projects
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices
- Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, geology, finance, accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in petroleum analysis or a similar role, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Knowledge of petroleum production processes, reserves estimation techniques, and exploration methodologies
- Experience with financial analysis, modeling, and reporting
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
